Gazipasa has very important
historical background with a rich mix of cultures. The first place to visit
of historical importance are the ruins of the old Klikya
harbour which made Gazipasa
an important trading centre in the past. This brought many different
Influences to Gazipasa and also over the years
many different names. Of those known are: Selinos,
Selintios, Sellinous, Selinont, Trajenpolis and streanpolis there are many places as you walk around
the area dating from Selçuk and o Homan times and
during this Priod Gazipasa
was Known as "Selinti"
